Alex Tong001 / 002
BY DAY

Alex Tong.

Software engineer in New York City. More than half a decade shipping product, twelve hours a day with .

Previously @ , where I learned what scale costs in sleep, then @ , building the video and audio players that delivered quality fact-checked news. Now independent: writing, building, and coaching engineers and beyond, one on one.

I write a monthly dispatch about AI tooling, music production, and side projects. I cook. I record. I'm building a small video game.

BY NIGHT

Count Tongula.

An indistinct shape that arrives between the second cup of coffee and the third. Older than this codebase. Speaks only in lowercase.

Took up residence around Issue 003 — a footnote that spilled into a footnote — and hasn't paid rent since. He insists on the em-dash. Holds opinions about the Oxford comma that he refuses to defend in writing. Has been known to circle a weak verb in red ink and pin it to my desk overnight.

Drinks something out of a mug I've stopped asking about. Some readers think he's a bit. Others have written in asking if he's available for freelance editing. I've stopped clarifying.
